Scout Active Support – Supporting Scouting Behind the Scenes
Scout Active Support brings together adults who want to support Scouting in flexible and rewarding ways. Formerly known as Fellowship, Scout Active Support provides valuable help across our District, enabling young people to enjoy safe, exciting and memorable Scouting experiences.
Members of Scout Active Support come from a wide range of backgrounds and bring many different skills, interests and experiences. Some help directly with activities and events, while others support behind the scenes with administration, fundraising, training, maintenance, catering or specialist skills. Whether helping at camps, supporting District events or assisting local Groups, Active Support members play a vital role in keeping Scouting running smoothly.
One of the strengths of Scout Active Support is its flexibility. Members can volunteer in ways that suit their availability, interests and skills, making it an excellent option for adults who want to stay involved in Scouting without committing to a regular weekly section meeting. It also provides opportunities for former leaders, parents, Network members and supporters from the wider community to continue contributing to Scouting in meaningful ways.
Scout Active Support is about teamwork, friendship and shared purpose. Members support one another while helping deliver opportunities that allow young people across the District to learn new skills, build confidence and experience adventure.
For our District, Scout Active Support is an essential part of the Scouting family. Their dedication, experience and willingness to help strengthen Scouting at every level and ensure that young people continue to benefit from high-quality programmes and opportunities.
Whether you have practical skills, professional expertise or simply want to lend a hand and support local Scouting, Scout Active Support offers a flexible and rewarding way to get involved.
