Christchurch Scout and Guide Gang Show

Lights, music, laughter and friendship – welcome to Christchurch Scout and Guide Gang Show.

For more than 60 years, Christchurch Scout and Guide Gang Show has brought together young people and adults from Scouting and Guiding to create spectacular live theatre. What began in 1960 has grown into one of Christchurch’s most cherished traditions, and today proudly remains the last surviving Gang Show in Dorset and one of only around 125 in the UK.

Held every two years, Gang Show is a vibrant variety production featuring music, comedy, dance, drama and traditional Gang Show favourites. Performed at The Regent in Christchurch, the show showcases the incredible talent, dedication and enthusiasm of its cast and crew while providing high-quality family entertainment for the local community.

But Gang Show is about much more than performing on stage. It provides young people with opportunities to develop confidence, teamwork, communication and leadership skills in a supportive and creative environment. From performers and musicians to backstage crew, lighting, sound, costumes and stage management, everyone plays an important role in bringing the production to life.

With cast members drawn from Scouts and Guides across Christchurch, months of rehearsals are filled with laughter, friendship and unforgettable experiences. Many former cast members describe Gang Show as one of the highlights of their Scouting or Guiding journey, creating memories and friendships that last a lifetime.

Behind the scenes, a dedicated team of volunteers work tirelessly to produce each show, sharing their skills and passion to ensure every performance is a success. Whether you enjoy performing, working backstage, helping with costumes, supporting production or simply cheering from the audience, there is a place for everyone in the Gang Show family.

Whether you’re an experienced performer or stepping onto the stage for the very first time, Christchurch Scout and Guide Gang Show offers a unique opportunity to learn new skills, make lifelong friends and be part of something truly special.
