The scheme includes training modules and four practical missions, completed within a section.
The Four Missions
Your Role as a Section Leader
Before
- Discuss what the Young Leader plans to do
- Check the activity is safe and suitable
During
- Observe and allow them to lead
- Support only if needed
After
- Give constructive feedback
- Encourage reflection and learning
What Does โSigning Offโ Mean?
By signing or commenting on a mission, you confirm that:
- The mission took place
- The Young Leader took responsibility
- The activity was safe and appropriate
- You have given feedback
You are not approving the mission in OSM.

Uploading Evidence to OSM
- Evidence must be completed and signed first
- Young Leaders upload via OSM’s Badges at Home
- Email goes to the Young Leader Leader
- Section Leaders do not approve in OSM
