Please be informed that there will be two District PRI Briefings to be held on Wednesday 17th January 2001 and Thursday 18th January 2001 both starting at 7.30pm in the new District HQ. During the evening you will get to hear about the latest details regarding PRI. All leaders, helpers, Committee Members, Patrol Leaders and Ventures are welcome to attend.
Just a short note to bring you up to date with the latest developments regarding PRI. I attended a briefing session in Bristol on Saturday 30th September and was given some details regarding the changes that have been agreed by the Committee of the Council and a brief outline of the timescales involved. The changes are wide-ranging and some careful planning and preparation needs to take place at County and District level before announcing the details to all members. This work is taking place now and presentations will take place within the District in January. There will also be core group and section based meetings to (i) ensure that everyone is aware of the full details of the changes; (ii) devise and agree a local implementation plan; (iii) answer any questions regarding the changes.
I would like to wish Anita (GSL 2nd Scoutlink) and Ian Penny (ACC Scouts) all the best for a happy future together following their Marriage today.
The annual district swimming gala took place on Saturday 7th October and was attended for the first time in many years by seven groups. After a closely fought battle Mudeford swept the board in all four categorys followed closely by Jumpers. Well done to Mudeford and unlucky Jumpers, maybe next time.

I am pleased to announce that with effect from the next AGM the ADC (Venture Scouts) will be Christopher Root. I hope you will join me in welcoming Chris to the District Team and give him the support he deserves as he takes on this new challenge.
If you have not taken a course in the last three years please inform your GSL or the DC as soon as possible. A new round of courses will be run shortly.
The DC has implemented a new set of procedures for authorisation and notification of adventurous activities and camps. All Section Leaders, GSLs and members of the District Team have received details of these new procedures. Please make sure that you make yourself familiar with them.
Would any Leader who changes their name, address or telephone number please ensure that they inform either the DC or Maureen Freeman (Appointments Secretary) as soon as possible.
