A great annual review took place at Hurn Bridge followed by much chatter, nibbles and drinks by over 70 people. The formal business was soon forgotten.
Two explorers took top Chief Scout Awards and several collected their DofE awards. Over the year, almost 90 Chief Scout Awards were earned across the 4 sections, what an awesome achievement by the young people. On 78 of the 365 nights, there was camping by some group from district.
Well done to Somerford Beavers, Burton Cubs and Town Scouts who received the ADCs awards for best progress.
Sue and Keith were applauded for receiving awards and nobody believed Sheila could have completed 50 years of service to scouting. Well done to all three and to all those others who have earned other awards during the year.
The county commissioner reminded all our volunteers that they may not seem very important people, but they can be important in the life of a child. Something for us all to ponder.
